DeSean Jackson only playing in 2022 if team with 'great quarterback' calls

After 14 seasons with five different teams, wide receiver DeSean Jackson is ready for retirement. The only way he'd reconsider that plan is if one of the NFL's best quarterbacks is ready to throw him passes in 2022.

"If the right situation calls, a great quarterback -- not just a good quarterback -- a great," Jackson said on Sports Illustrated's Laces Out. "There's a few teams ... the Chiefs may be one, the Browns, maybe Russell Wilson in Denver, Green Bay."

The Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, and Green Bay Packers all have quarterbacks who have earned at least three Pro Bowl nods. Earlier in the 2022 offseason, the Browns acquired Deshaun Watson in a trade with the Houston Texans and the Broncos picked up Wilson in a deal with the Seattle Seahawks.

Jackson, 35, is one of 37 players to eclipse 11,000 career receiving yards and one of 45 to record at least four punt return touchdowns. Last year, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams in the offseason, but requested his release and was dropped by the team in November. He finished the season with the Las Vegas Raiders where he caught just eight passes in seven games.
