Deshaun Watson is going into his third season with the Cleveland Browns, and his first two seasons with the team have been horrible.
Watson was suspended for the first eleven games of 2022 and only played in six games, during which he looked very rusty and couldn’t play football. In 2023, Watson only saw six starts again, but this time, it was due to a nagging shoulder injury that kept him out for a few games here and there. Then, it ended his season for good in mid-November.
Deshaun Watson would get shoulder surgery and then watch Joe Flacco take his place and lead the Browns to the playoffs; many fans fell in love with Flacco and wanted him back to be Watson’s backup in 2024, but the Browns signed Jameis Winston instead, and now everyone is wondering when Watson will be ready to play this season.
On Thursday, Watson spoke at the opening of his Lefty’s Cheesesteaks and said the “shoulder is great and will be ready for Week 1 for sure.”

Every Browns fan should be thrilled to hear that Watson seems ready to play in Week 1 if there are no setbacks and Deshaun Watson is going into a crucial season.
When Watson was traded to the Browns two years ago for a boatload of draft picks and 230 million dollars guaranteed, nobody thought he would only see 12 starts in two years, and he looked pretty bad in most of them.
The Browns also have one of the best teams in the league, and Watson needs to be what he was with the Houston Texans for the Browns to reach a Super Bowl. If Old Watson returns in 2024, the Browns could be major players in the AFC.
