The Deshaun Watson reports keep coming after the Houston Texans hired former New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio as their next general manager.
Multiple reports state that the star quarterback is upset with the franchise for several reasons. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday that the 25-year-old is upset Cal McNair pivoted, hiring a man who search firm Korn Ferry didn't include on its list of general manager candidates. He's also said to be "furious" at the direction the Texans are going. He reportedly even began telling teammates that he might request a trade from the franchise after a disappointing 4-12 season.
Watson also wanted the team to interview Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for the head-coaching gig. The Texans are the only team with an open spot not to interview him.
According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the reports about Watson's unhappiness in Houston are "accurate," and the three-time Pro Bowler would consider a trade to the Miami Dolphins, who would have to send Tua Tagovailoa and other assets to the Texans.
Sources say Watson could play hardball with Texans about a trade. His new $156 million contract includes a no-trade clause but informed speculation from a source is that he would consider the @MiamiDolphins in which Tua Tagovailoa and additional compensation goes to Houston.

ESPN's Field Yates also shared an old photo of Watson wearing a Dan Marino Dolphins T-shirt, so it's hard to imagine the QB wouldn't want to play in Miami.

Despite Houston's struggles as a whole, Watson had the best statistical season of his career in 2020, completing 70.2% of his passes for 4,823 yards and 33 touchdowns against seven interceptions. He also ran for 444 yards and three touchdowns.
It would be a mistake for the Texans to trade Watson, but they might not have a choice if the Clemson product is that unhappy.
