Deshaun Watson's lawyer: 'Keep an open mind' until we respond to allegations

Disgruntled Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson desperately wants to be traded this offseason but could soon be facing no fewer than 12 lawsuits related to alleged acts of sexual assault and misconduct.

In a statement, Rusty Hardin, Watson's lawyer, said the 25-year-old signal-caller who has denied any wrongdoing will offer a response at some point next week, per Mark Berman of Fox 26 (h/t Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk):

"I’m extremely proud to represent Deshaun Watson and wholly stand behind him against what we believe are meritless allegations. However, we will wait to comment in detail until we’ve completed our review of the numerous, evolving allegations from Mr. Buzbee. We will respond next week and ask you to keep an open mind until we do so."

Houston attorney Tony Buzbee, who is representing those who allege misconduct, says he has spoken with nearly two-dozen women regarding allegations against the quarterback who remains on the radars of at least six teams, per a recent report. It's unknown if Watson could face criminal charges or any punishment through the NFL's personal-conduct policy.

The NFL is looking into the allegations, and Buzbee said his office will cooperate with the league's investigation.
