Despite matchup, 'Thursday Night Football' still recorded 10.5M viewers for Commanders-Bears

Everyone wants to see a trainwreck, apparently.

Per Ad Week, the last "Thursday Night Football" game between the Washington Commanders and Chicago Bears drew roughly 10.5 million viewers, comparable to viewership for Prime Video's other Thursday night games.

After the debacle that was Colts-Broncos on Oct. 6, many were wondering how many fans would tune in to see two more terrible NFL offenses. The answer: a lot.

The Commanders won 12-7 in a game they had 86 net passing yards. The Bears had three possessions reach the Commanders' 5-yard line. They came away with zero points on all three.

As much ridicule as "Thursday Night Football" has received the past two weeks, they're proving that any publicity is good publicity.

Maybe everyone was just getting in the spirit of the holiday. It's October, after all. Everyone's entitled to one good scare.
