Details emerge on Fred Warner's 3-year extension with 49ers: Year-by-year breakdown
Morgan Tencza-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers have signed star linebacker Fred Warner to a three-year contract worth up to $63 million, including $18.15 million fully guaranteed and a $27.32 million signing bonus. The extension secures one of the team's defensive cornerstones through the 2029 season. Warner had two years remaining on his previous contract.

Warner's $21 million average annual salary on the extension makes him the highest-paid linebacker in the NFL, surpassing Roquan Smith's $20 million per year. The deal carries a cap hit of $16.1 million in 2025 and $9.7 million in 2026, with higher figures in the later years. A void year in 2030 adds a $4.2 million cap charge.
