Details of David Andrews' contract show he took discount to stay with Patriots

When David Andrews reportedly agreed to re-sign with the Patriots on Thursday, it was widely believed that he took less to remain in New England.

The details of his contract were revealed on Saturday, and it appears the longtime Patriots center did take a discount to stay put. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Andrews agreed to a four-year, $19 million deal with $6.5 million fully guaranteed.

Andrews could've likely received more money on the open market, but he always wanted to stay in New England. Last month, the 28-year-old said he would "love" to return to the Patriots because "New England is our home."

The two-time Super Bowl champion has spent his entire career with the Patriots after going undrafted out of Georgia.

Per Over The Cap, the NFL's highest-paid centers are Corey Linsley, Ryan Kelly and Rodney Hudson. Andrews ranks 18th on the list with an average annual value of $4.75 million.
