Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions saw their four-game winning streak come to an end in Week 6's edition of "Sunday Night Football," falling to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs 30-17 and dropping to 4-2 on the 2025 NFL season. Despite the loss, Lions quarterback Jared Goff had a nice night, completing 23-of-29 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns.
But it wasn't enough to stop Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl champion, who completed 22-of-30 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns while adding 32 yards and another touchdown with his feet. A big reason for the struggles of Detroit's secondary could be the absence of cornerback Terrion Arnold, who is recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered in Week 6.
The Chiefs were also missing a key piece against the Lions, as wide receiver Rashee Rice served the final game of his six-game suspension. With Rice set to return this week, Kansas City waived fellow wideout Jason Brownlee, only to re-sign him to the practice squad on Wednesday. In a corresponding move, cornerback Jammie Robinson terminated his practice squad contract with the Chiefs.
"The Chiefs re-signed WR Jason Brownlee to the practice squad," A to Z Sports' Charles Goldman wrote on X. "To make room, DB Jammie Robinson terminated his practice squad contract with the team."
Sure enough, just a few hours after leaving Kansas City, the Lions signed Robinson to a one-year deal, hoping he can provide depth with Arnold, fellow corner Avonte Maddox (hamstring) and safety Brian Branch (suspension) sidelined.
"The Lions are signing DB Jammie Robinson to a one-year deal, per source," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler wrote on X. "Was with Kansas City’s practice squad previously. Detroit depleted in the secondary."

Detroit depleted in the secondary.
Although Robinson never saw game action during his brief stint with the Chiefs, he appeared in 21 games over his first two NFL seasons with the Carolina Panthers, including two starts as a rookie, when he recorded 17 total tackles. Robinson didn’t finish the 2024 season with Carolina, as he was released in December before spending the offseason with the Arizona Cardinals.
Up next for Campbell and the Lions, a matchup with Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7's edition of "Monday Night Football."
