Dianna Russini’s Story About Talking To Jimmy Garoppolo The Night Before Her Wedding Is Raising Some Major Red Flags

Old comments from The Athletic‘s Dianna Russini about marriage have gone viral after she was spotted hanging out with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel.

On Tuesday, photos surfaced of Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini hanging out at the Ambiente hotel in Sedona, Arizona, on March 28. Images showed them hugging, holding hands and hanging out at a swimming pool.

Both Russini and Vrabel released statements soon after. She said the pictures “don’t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day,” and Vrabel called it an “innocent interaction.”

Internet detectives have dug up some of Russini’s previous comments and interviews over the past 24 hours. An interview between Russini and Vrabel from 2025 has resurfaced, and some have pointed out the “chemistry” between them.

And now? Somebody dug up one of Russini’s old interviews on “The Dan Le Batard Show,” where she talks about marriage. Russini’s comments, given the latest developments, are certainly interesting:

“When men propose, that’s their wedding day. That’s when you guys are all-in. It’s not really all-in for us, yet. I think for women, the actual wedding day is the moment…I was the one that was very skeptical.”

Russini recalled an interview with then-San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on the day before her wedding. Jimmy G asked Russini if she was sure she wanted to do the interview.

“The one guy…my mom wanted me to marry…was Jimmy Garoppolo. And he’s calling me…this is a sign. I, of course, did not marry Jimmy Garoppolo.”
