Did Alexander get away with hold on INT vs. Cowboys?

Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander made a huge play early in his team’s wild-card playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, but he may have gotten away with a penalty.

The Cowboys were trailing 7-0 and had third-and-4 with the ball deep in their own territory late in the first quarter. Dak Prescott tried to complete a short pass to Brandin Cooks, but Alexander was all over the veteran wide receiver and came away with the pick.

Replays appeared to show that Alexander tugged Cooks’ shoulder just before the veteran corner made a play on the ball. You can a couple of different angles below:

There was definitely some contact, but that seemed like a good no-call. Alexander was playing the ball and made an outstanding play. Even though there was a slight grab of Cooks’ shoulder, it did not seem to have a significant impact on the route. That was just a good football play.

The Packers scored a touchdown shortly after the interception to take an early 14-0 lead over Dallas.
