With plenty of questions at the kicker position following the release of Greg Zeurlein, who flopped in 2024, the Jets are still looking for a permanent solution at the position. They now hope they’ve found an answer by signing free agent Harrison Mevis.
Most recently a member of the UFL’s Birmingham Stallions where he connected on 20 of 21 kicks, Mevis was the most prolific kicker in the history of the University of Missouri. While at Mizzou, Mevis was good on 89 of 106 kicks (84%) with a career long of 61-yards.
The 23-year-old Mevis had a cup of coffee with the Carolina Panthers but has yet to kick in a pro game.
He now joins a roster that includes rookie Caden Davis and Anders Carlson who went 8-10 with a long o of 58 yards last season.
