Did the Seattle Seahawks turn down an invitation to the White House? That seems to be the popular rumor floating around NFL circles this Wednesday.

Seattle had a dominant playoff run, taking down the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots. Mike Macdonald's defense was awfully impressive in the Super Bowl, forcing Drake Maye into three costly turnovers. The offense, meanwhile, was carried by running back Kenneth Walker III. He was named Super Bowl MVP after racking up 161 yards from scrimmage.

“When you have a game plan, you know what you are going to do,” Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon said. “You know how you are going to execute it. You just got to go out there and play ball. That’s what makes us who we are. We trust each other to go out there and do our thing.”

Although the Seahawks aren't even two weeks removed from capturing the Lombardi Trophy, people are speculating about their offseason plans.

On Tuesday night, a rumor about the Seahawks rejecting an invitation to the White House surfaced on the platform formerly known as Twitter.

"Seattle Seahawks decline White House invitation," a man by the name of Ron Wright wrote.

This post from Wright has already received 2.8 million views and 145,000 likes in less than 24 hours. Naturally, some fans have praised the Seahawks while others have criticized them.

Did last year's Super Bowl champs go to the White house?

Yes, the Philadelphia Eagles took a trip to the nation's capital to celebrate their Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Trump referred to Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts as a "terrific guy and terrific player." He also raved about the entire team that Howie Roseman assembled.

"The Eagles have turned out to be an incredible team, an incredible group," Trump said.

It's too early to tell if the Seahawks will show up to the White House. Make no mistake though, this will remain a popular subject until an official decision is announced.
