Dillon Gabriel, the Browns’ third-round pick, expressed his excitement about joining an established quarterback room in Cleveland. Despite being the fifth signal-caller off the board, Gabriel’s selection was met with intrigue, given his proven playmaking ability and experience under center.
He is joining a room that includes the Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, former first-rounder Kenny Pickett and most importantly veteran Joe Flacco, whom Gabriel admires.
“Yeah, I think that’s huge,” Gabriel told reporters on April 26, talking about the benefit of being in the same team as Flacco. “I think as a guy who’s played a lot of ball myself.
"I obviously know there’s still a lot for me to learn. And then on another piece, you know, me being a vet in college, I know how much I was able to share knowledge in college with some younger guys." He added. "And I’ll be doing the same, learning from Joe. I think it’s a unique situation and having a guy like him that has a lot of knowledge and has played a lot of ball. He’s seen what works and what doesn’t.”

Gabriel began his collegiate journey at UCF in 2019 and immediately made an impact, stepping into the starting role after the season opener. He led the Knights to a 10-3 record, throwing for 3,653 yards, 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions en route to a Gasparilla Bowl victory over Marshall.
He also recorded four 400-yard games, the most by any Knight, and authored 11 outings with at least 300 passing yards.
