Does Browns latest move hint at push for WR DeAndre Hopkins?

It's no secret the Browns are connected to free-agent WR DeAndre Hopkins as he may want to reunite with QB Deshaun Watson. But are they really gearing up for a strong push for the five-time Prow Bowler?

Cleveland's latest move certainly supports the idea. The team released veteran offensive tackle Joe Haeg on Monday, clearing $2 million in cap space.

The release alone won't bring Hopkins to the Browns but it grows their cap space total to $14.85 million, which should be more than enough to pay the 31-year-old wide receiver.

Money will likely not be the deciding factor for Hopkins, but it will surely help.

Watson has also "privately been going all-out" to recruit Hopkins to Cleveland. The two played together on the Texans from 2017-19 and have had the most success in their careers when playing together.

In their last season together, Hopkins finished with 104 catches for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns.

General manager Andrew Berry has been aggressive this offseason and Hopkins could be the next player he is targeting.

With plenty of cap space, a potential reunion with Watson and a team that on paper looks to be a contender, the Browns may just land the league's most desired remaining free agent.
