Does Davante Want to Stay With Jets?

The New York Jets' future is uncertain with five weeks remaining in the 2024 season. With the Jets' playoff hopes dashed last week against the Seattle Seahawks, and the team in need of a new head coach and general manager, they could look very different at the start of next season.

One player whose future with the team is uncertain is All-Pro receiver Davante Adams. The Jets acquired the 30-year-old early in the season to pair him with longtime teammate Aaron Rodgers. However, the likelihood that Rodgers remains with the Jets next season seems slim as the season goes on.

When speaking to media earlier in the week, Adams made a brutally honest prediction about his future in New York.

"That's a great question, and I truly don't have the answer to it right now," said Adams. "I would love to be a part of this football team. I'd love to go to war with these guys, but it's a business and there are a lot of pieces, contractually, and, obviously, with Aaron's future -- a lot of things that I can't control."

Adams still has two years remaining in his contract following the 2024 season, so the Jets could keep him around if they still see potential in the veteran. But, in nine games this season (six with the Jets), Adams simply hasn't looked like the same player.

Adams currently has 49 catches for 553 yards and three touchdowns. He has yet to finish a game with over 100 receiving yards since arriving in New York.
