Despite being the No. 1 pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, the spotlight hasn't been on Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward.
Cleveland Browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders (pick No. 144) has received more media coverage, and the league doesn't seem to be promoting the former Miami standout. Ward and Co. are scheduled for no prime-time games this season.
Former Carolina Panthers star Cam Newton was the last QB to go No. 1 overall and have no prime-time games during his rookie season (2011). Does the lack of fanfare bother Ward?
"You've probably seen that there's not enough focus on him being the first pick or whatever," Ward's father, Calvin, told Fox Sports' Ben Arthur in a story published Monday. "He honestly does not care. That's the honest truth. He doesn't care.
"He just wants to work, get better, help his team improve."
Ward is used to being overlooked. Coming out of Columbia High School in West Columbia, Texas, he was a zero-star recruit, according to 247 Sports. He began his college career at Incarnate Word before transferring to Washington State and then Miami.
His journey has instilled an excellent work ethic. In June, Titans head coach Brian Callahan said the 23-year-old passer arrives at the team's facility at 5 a.m. every day. When the team reported for training camp on July 22, he came at 4:45 a.m., per Arthur.
ESPN's Jeff Darlington believes his dedication will win over the locker room.

"This dude is going to get the respect of the veterans in the way [Washington Commanders QB] Jayden Daniels does," Darlington said Monday on "Get Up." "He's got all the intangibles and the pieces. I just think Cam Ward's got it."
Daniels won the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year, leading the Commanders to their first NFC Championship Game since the 1991 season. Cam Ward won the 2024 Davey O'Brien Award as college football's best QB but probably won't lead Tennessee on a deep playoff run.
The Titans went 3-14 last season and haven't made the playoffs since the 2021 season.
However, Ward could capture OROY, like Daniels. As of Tuesday, FanDuel Sportsbook gives him the second-best odds (+300) to win it behind Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty (+250). The QB would generate much more attention if he did.
