Dolphins Don’t Give Up

It was an ugly game for most of the day.

The Dolphins did not play their best football on either side of the ball.

Yet, despite an often-porous defense and the offense failing to score on two fourth-down plays inside the Commanders’ 1-yard line, the Miami Dolphins ultimately emerged victorious, winning in overtime by a score of 16-13.

De’Von Achane was his usual superstar and took it upon himself to put the team in a position to kick an easy field goal and win it at the end.

The defense, which bent but didn’t break, kept our offense in the game.

And, when they needed it the most, cornerback Jack Jones stole the game with the interception on the first play of overtime.

Coach Mike McDaniel called a good game and stuck with the running game, especially when the offense needed it the most.

It didn’t start very well for the Dolphins, with McDaniel calling a timeout before the second play of the game, and shortly following, Tua was called for a delay of game penalty, nullifying a fourth-and-short play in the red zone.

The game wasn’t pretty, but the Dolphins showed resilience and physicality when it counted.

Ollie Gordon II did some good things, even with the short-yardage challenges in the red zone.

Jaylen Waddle flashed on some pass plays but dropped two critical passes in the fourth quarter that could have potentially avoided overtime.

So, we find ourselves with a record of 4-7 as most people had predicted.

And the Miami Dolphins fans who made the trek to Madrid left Spain on an enjoyable ride back home.

Enjoy the win.

Ugly victories beat a loss anytime.
