BREAKING: Dolphins FIRE Two from Scouting Department
The Miami Dolphins fired general manager Chris Grier on October 31st; today, they fired two more people from their front office/scouting department.
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network is reporting that the Miami Dolphins have fired co-directors of player personnel Adam Engroff and Anthony Hunt.
The Dolphins’ front office is going through a major shakeup, and they are not waiting until the end of the season to start the process.

Engroff started with the Dolphins in 2015 as a college scout. A year later, he was named director of college scouting, a title he held until 2018. In 2019, he was named co-director of Player Personnel.
Hunt’s time with the Dolphins goes back to 1994. He was a personnel intern in 1994 and 1995. He was then a Scouting Assistant for four seasons before he became a BLESTO Scout for three seasons with the Dolphins. He then served as a regional scout and national scout for many years before transitioning to Director of Pro Personnel and Director of Player Personnel for six seasons. In 2019, he became the Co-Director of Pro Personnel, and in 2020, he was then named Co-Director of Player Personnel.
When the Dolphins fired Chris Grier, it was reported that Stephen Ross wants to reshape the Dolphins’ front office vision. So, expect anyone who has had ties to Chris Grier or who was brought in by Grier to be let go in time.
Some of those moves you can make quickly and easily, like these moves.
Other moves, like actual scouts and scouting assistants, you have to wait until after the Draft in April to remove them, as a lot of the legwork for this year’s upcoming Draft is done, and you can’t replace them this far along in the process.
It isn’t expected that Champ Kelly will stay on as the general manager, but anything is possible. The fact he was brought in by Chris Grier as well doesn’t bode well for his chances.
When Miami starts its general manager interviews in January to find the next GM, expect him to bring in his own people to fill these roles.
