In a blockbuster trade on Monday, the Miami Dolphins acquired safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and a late-round pick from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith.
One of the biggest storylines of the movie is Fitzpatrick returning to the Dolphins. They had selected him with the No. 11 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but eventually traded him to the Steelers during the 2019 season.
In that short time with the team, he was solid, appearing in 18 games, allowing 46 completions, 591 yards, three touchdowns and an 87.1 passer rating on 76 targets with two interceptions and 92 tackles.
Now, it's clear that Miami is happy to have the five-time Pro Bowler and three-time First-Team All-Pro back, commemorating his return with its own X post, captioned "A familiar face Welcome back, Minkah!"

Many fans have now joined the Dolphins in welcoming Fitzpatrick back, while also showing clear excitement to see what he will do in his second stint with the organization.
"Should’ve never been let go in the first place. Good to have Minkah Back though that’s for sure," said one comment.
"Surreal, welcome back Minkah," said another.
"Never should have traded him in the first place," a third added.
A fourth stated, "I bought a Minkah jersey when he got drafted. I was frustrated and disappointed when he got traded. I never thought he'd be in a dolphins jersey. It's not every day that things come full circle."
"This honestly doesn’t feel real lol," a fifth continued.
"Welcome back," said another.
It remains to be seen if he can continue the same success he had with the Steelers, recording 516 tackles, 18 interceptions, while being targeted 245 times, allowing 153 receptions, 2,115 yards, 14 touchdowns and a 78.5 passer rating.
Even if Fitzpatrick does, though, the 2025 season looks grim for the Dolphins, as ESPN BET ties them for the 21st-best odds (+7500) to win the Super Bowl and the third-best (+700) to win the AFC East.
