Dolphins’ Future is Encouraging
Given that very few, if any, Dolphins fans expect the 2026 season to be successful, I am looking forward to what our new regime will bring to the field.
Younger players, players with something to prove, players who want to give their all, and players who want to compete, bode well for an entertaining season.
The 2026 Miami Dolphins may not end up winning many games, but from what I’ve witnessed and heard thus far from Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley, the commitment is to field a competitive team.
As a fan who wants to enjoy their favorite team playing their hearts out on Sundays in the Fall, I am personally looking forward to the 2026 Miami Dolphins.
And with the debacle we witnessed in 2025, with shoddy quarterback play, inconsistent team leadership, poor coaching, questionable in-game decisions, an incompetent general manager, and an indifferent owner, we have nowhere to go but up.
As Sullivan has strongly hinted in his interviews, I predict the Dolphins will trade for more draft picks, either in 2026 or in 2027.
And with that comes a greater number of players who have a chance to be special, and to become the team that reflects the new vision.
Sullivan and Hafley are on the same page, something the Dolphins have not had since the glory days of the early 70s, and having that type of leadership certainly points this team in the right direction.
And on April 23rd, when the 2026 NFL draft kicks off in Pittsburgh, I look forward to our new leadership making good decisions through identifying talented players.
What a difference that would be, given the terrible decisions we saw Grier make for all those years as general manager.
At this point, since Sullivan and Hafley have yet to prove themselves, it may be wishful thinking, but I feel more hopeful and encouraged than I have in countless years.
