Dolphins Get Defender and Picks in Expert’s Final Mock Draft
USA TODAY Sports

After a mild start to the off-season, the Miami Dolphins are looking to make a big splash in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Dolphins didn’t fill in some of their biggest position needs on both sides of the ball. The offensive line and secondary are two of the biggest position units for the Dolphins to fill. That is just the beginning of their problems for this upcoming season.

They will look to round one of the draft starting on Thursday. Miami has several prospects in mind to select with pick No. 13, but one expert believes the Dolphins will trade down to take care of more of their position needs.

NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah released his final mock draft, and it had some interesting moves.

Jeremiah has the Denver Broncos trading up from No. 20 to the Dolphins’ place at No. 13 so they can select Michigan tight end Colston Loveland. This would give the Broncos more pass-catching options for their offense.

The Dolphins would then use the No. 20 pick to select Georgia safety Malaki Starks, a prospect they’ve been evaluating since the beginning of the draft process. Starks can easily be the full-time starter after losing Jevon Holland to free agency.

The Dolphins would get a key player of interest and receive a package from the Broncos. Part of the package would likely include the Broncos’ second-round pick (No. 51) and potentially their third-round pick (No. 85). A discussion could be made for a first-round pick for next year’s 2026 NFL Draft.

This trade would be a big win for the Dolphins, who get one of their targeted prospects and multiple picks to help fill in the roster with young talent.
