Rapoport further noted that the only two teams left without a head coach now are the New Orleans Saints and Houston Texans.
Mike McDaniel's coaching career began with the Denver Broncos as an intern in 2005, before he served as an offensive assistant with the Texans from 2006-08. The 38-year-old then held the role of running backs coach with the Sacramento Mountains of the UFL in 2009 and 2010, before returning to the NFL as an offensive assistant with Washington in 2011 and 2012.
The Aurora, Colorado, native was Washington's wide receivers coach in 2013 and held that post with the Cleveland Browns in 2014, and then was an offensive assistant with the Atlanta Falcons in 2015 and 2016. McDaniel joined the 49ers in 2017 as their run game coordinator and held that job until he was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2021.
