Dolphins Hire Chargers Defensive Coordinator as Pass Game Coordinator
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Chargers defensive coordinator Renaldo Hill is leaving the Chargers to become Miami’s defensive pass game coordinator. It is unique for a defensive coordinator to take another job that is viewed as a “step down” but he may have been told a change was coming in LA with his role and position. In 2022 the Chargers were ranked 20th in Total Defense, 7th in Passing Defense, 28th in Rushing Defense, and 22nd in Scoring Defense.

Hill was an assistant pass game specialist for the Dolphins in 2018 and then worked for Fangio in Denver in 2019-2020.  Hill also played for the Dolphins between 2006-08
