Dolphins Hire Kyle Smith as Assistant GM
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reports the Miami Dolphins have hired Kyle Smith as their assistant general manager.
Smith has been with the Atlanta Falcons since 2021. From 2021-2022, he was the Vice President of Player Personnel.
From 2023-2025, he was the Assistant General Manager with the Falcons.
He got his break in the NFL in Washington beginning in 2010. As a scouting intern, then as a scout, and then as the Director of College Personnel.
In 2020, with Washington, he served as Vice President of Player Personnel before joining the Atlanta Falcons.

Smith is 41 years old, and his father is AJ Smith, the former general manager of the San Diego Chargers, who acquired Phillip Rivers for them when he was the general manager.
Even though he wasn’t the general manager with the Falcons, many considered him the brains of the operation and the man who played a key role in the drafting of many key players by the Falcons in recent years.
In Miami, he will be Jon-Eric Sullivan’s right-hand man and work closely with Sullivan to rebuild and replenish this depleted Miami Dolphins roster.
Miami has five draft picks in the Top 90 in this year’s upcoming NFL Draft in late April, and they will be able to immediately put their stamp on this team at that time.
The hirings will be coming fast and furious in Miami in the next few days.
He spent the last season in Buffalo in the same role.
