Dolphins – Lions Joint Practice #1 Recap

The Miami Dolphins had their first of two joint practices today with the Detroit Lions. Here is what took place on the practice field below. Below is an accounting of what took place on the field from our mole who is on the scene.

Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle will practice some today vs the Lions

Julian Hill beat Grant Stuard over the middle on a pass play (Stuard was the Lions LB who was running his mouth about the Dolphins being soft earlier in the week)

Tua Tagovailoa hit De’Von Achane on a pass play down the sideline during 7 on 7 drills for roughly 35 yards

Willie Gay and Minkah Fitzpatrick stop Lions TE Sam LaPorta for a short gain on a reception

Kenneth Grant won a 1-on-1 drill against Lions rookie OG Tate Ratledge

Zach Wilson threw an interception in 7 on 7 drills

Quinn Ewers came out hot in the 7-on-7 drills hitting his first two passes

Tua threw an incompletion to Julian Hill who had his defender beat

Jordyn Brooks had an open field tackle on David Montgomery

Amon Ra St. Brown beat Jack Jones twice in 1-on-1 drills

Zach Wilson hit a deep pass to AJ Henning

Tua overthrew Nick Westbrook-Ikhine in 7-on-7 drill

Kerby Joseph broke up a pass to Dee Eskridge

Dolphins called for a false start

Chop Robinson was carted off the practice field

Jaylen Waddle caught a screen pass TD

Zach Wilson threw a ball to high to Jaylen Wright on 4th down

Cam Goode tackled Craig Reynolds for a tackle for loss

The Dolphins’ secondary was getting beaten badly by Lions QB Jarod Goff and all of the Lions’ WRs

Zach Wilson threw another interception

Zach Wilson threw a TD to Tanner Conner

Lions LB Grant Straud brought down “Tackled” Ollie Gordon on a run to the outside

Tua was sacked on the first play of 11-on-11 drills

Zach Wilson threw a would be TD to Erik Ezukanma …..but he dropped it

Tua was sacked again in a red-zone period session

Miami Dolphins RB Mike Boone fumbled in the red zone

Jarpod Goff threw a 20-yard TD to  Jameson Williams with Kendall Sheffield in coverage
