Dolphins Make Quinn Ewers Decision on Sunday

The Miami Dolphins traveled to Atlanta on Sunday to face the Falcons.

In Week 7, Miami got blown out 31-6 in a loss to the Cleveland Browns. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw three interceptions and was benched at one point in the fourth quarter.

Quinn Ewers, who was active for the first time all season as the team's second-string quarterback, replaced Tagovailoa.

He went on to complete 5-of-8 passes for 53 yards. Tagovailoa completed 12-of-23 passes for 100 yards.

There was discussion throughout the week that Ewers and fellow quarterback Zach Wilson were competing for the backup job ahead of Sunday.

It turns out that the Dolphins made their decision just before kickoff.

Wilson was listed as active, while Ewers was made the emergency third-string quarterback against the Falcons.

Now, Ewers can only play in Sunday's game if Tagovailoa and Wilson get injured. The Dolphins cannot voluntarily put him in on their own.
