Dolphins' Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Recovering From Undisclosed Injury

The Miami Dolphins signed receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine this offseason to a two-year, $5.99 million contract to be Miami's No. 3 receiver behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

Westbrook-Ikhine spent the first five years of his career with the Tennessee Titans, carving out a reliable role as the team's third option and fringe-second option in the passing game.

However, at Wednesday's mandatory minicamp, Westbrook-Ikhine revealed he's been working through an injury.

Mike McDaniel said the receiver missed some time earlier this season due to the injury, but also noted that Westbrook-Ikhine has been "locked in" since he's been back.

Westbrook-Ikhine added that he's still working on establishing his role behind Hill and Waddle because of the missed opportunities earlier in the offseason.

But the receiver's injury does not appear to be anything that will keep him away from training camp.

Westbrook-Ikhine will be entering his sixth season in the NFL, getting a chance with the Titans in 2020 after going undrafted.

The Dolphins' receiver has averaged 435 yards over the last four seasons since his rookie year, when he had just eight targets. Westbrook-Ikhine is coming off his best season in 2024, where he reeled in 32 passes for 497 yards and excelled in the red zone with nine touchdowns on the year.

The undrafted receiver had a solid career at Indiana as well. In his final three full seasons, Westbrook-Ikhine collected 2,157 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Although he had a small setback in getting acclimated with his new teammates in Miami, Westbrook-Ikhine seems to be recovering well from his undisclosed injury and is ready to earn a role on the Dolphins in 2025.
