Dolphins punter Thomas Morstead, WR Trent Sherfield have 'therapy session' with 'butt punt' ball

Miami Dolphins special teams coordinator Danny Crossman said Tuesday that he found " absolutely zero amusement" from the team's "butt punt" in their Week 3 win over the Buffalo Bills. It looks like the two Dolphins players most directly involved in the infamous blooper, however, are taking a different approach.

With Miami nursing a 21-17 lead with just over 90 seconds left in the fourth quarter on Sunday, the Tua Tagovailoa-led offense was forced to punt from the back of their own end zone on 4th-and-11. With little room to operate, Morstead received the snap and promptly drilled the punt into the backside of wide receiver Trent Sherfield, sending the ball ricocheting out of bounds for a safety.

Fortunately for the hosts, they were able to hang on for a 21-19 victory.

A 2012 Pro Bowler with the New Orleans Saints, Morstead is in his 14th NFL season and first with the Dolphins. Sherfield is in his fifth NFL season and first with Miami as well.
