Dolphins Release Alec Ingold
The Miami Dolphins have released fullback Alec Ingold.
This move will open up $3 million in salary cap space for the Dolphins, who look to get salary cap compliant by next Wednesday.
Ingold was brought to Miami in 2022 when Mike McDaniel became the Dolphins’ head coach, and his offense required a fullback, something not all NFL teams use these days.
Ingold was voted to the Pro Bowl in 2023 and was one of the more consistent players for the Dolphins during his four seasons with the Dolphins.

Off the field, he was a vocal leader in the Dolphins’ locker room and a great presence in the South Florida community.
With Bobby Slowik running a similar offense that Mike McDaniel ran, I expect the Dolphins to look to add a fullback this offseason, but obviously, one at a much lower price.
Per the report, Ingold and the Dolphins discussed a new deal but couldn’t come to terms.
One has to wonder if Ingold doesn’t get what he is looking for on the open market, maybe he comes back to Miami at what they are offering.
Ingold was the league’s highest-paid fullback and will look to secure a similar deal with another team.
It is sad to see Ingold go because I believe he was a big part of the success De’Von Achane had the past two seasons, but $3 million for a fullback for a team in salary cap hell didn’t seem like a wise use of funds.
