Dolphins Sending Star WR Jaylen Waddle to the Broncos

It appears the Miami Dolphins have traded star WR Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos. Early speculation on Tuesday was seemingly confirmed by ESPN that Waddle has been dealt, and Denver will send this year’s first-round pick, as well as its late 3rd and 4th-round picks. This, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Denver had made zero outside free-agent signings this offseason and decided to go big instead of waiting for the draft.

The Broncos have long been linked to Waddle as a potential trade target. They inquired about his availability ahead of the 2025 trade deadline (November 2025), but Miami’s asking price (reportedly involving a first-round pick) was deemed too high, and no deal materialized.

Some predicted Denver could send their No. 30 overall pick (or similar assets) for Waddle to land a true wide receiver, while others suggested lower packages like a 2026 second-rounder plus a conditional 2027 third.

Discussions heated up around free agency and the draft, and recent chatter kept the rumor alive, including some “blockbuster” hypotheticals.

Waddle (26 years old, former first-round pick) has been a consistent producer, and a move to Denver would pair him with Bo Nix and give the Broncos a big offensive upgrade. This is a massive swing for both sides — Denver gets the playmaker now, Miami gets the future capital. Broncos fans are going wild; Dolphins fans are split between “we fleeced them” and “why move our best speed guy?”
