Dolphins Sign CB Jack Jones
The Miami Dolphins got to work early Saturday morning, signing free agent CB Jack Jones.
Jones was a 4th-round pick in 2022 by the Patriots, and the last two seasons he has played for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Jones is 27 years old, playing 42 games, starting 21 of them. Last season for the Raiders, Jones played in 17 games, starting 16 of them, and he had 3 interceptions. He gave up 8 touchdowns and had 15 missed tackles last season.
He has seven interceptions for his career.
His PFF numbers last season were a 53.9 overall grade at CB, rated 166 out of 222 cornerbacks. He had a coverage grade of 52.9, rated 168 out of 222 cornerbacks, and a run defense grade of 58.6, rated 142 out of 222 cornerbacks.
In June of 2023, Jones was arrested at Boston’s Logan Airport when two loaded guns were found in his carry-on baggage by TSA. Jones faced multiple charges, including possession of a concealed weapon and ammunition in an airport, as well as possession of a large-capacity magazine. In September of that year, all charges were dropped, and Jones agreed to one year of probation.
The Patriots also released him the week after he missed a curfew.
Miami’s cornerback room is a mess right now, with nothing but unproven young players. Jones brings some experience to the group, and you would have to think that, as of today can be penciled in as a starter to open the season.
It will be seen if Miami will look to add more cornerbacks as training camp goes on, but Jack Jones may be CB1 to open the season as things stand today.
