Dolphins Sign Former Falcons Running Back
The Miami Dolphins have signed running back Carlos Washington Jr after he tried out for the team. This comes after the corresponding retirement of Le’Veon Moss, an undrafted running back Miami signed after the 2026 draft. Washington was an undrafted free agent out of Southeastern Louisiana in 2023 and spent the last few seasons on and off the active roster or practice squad of the Atlanta Falcons.
Carlos Washington had produced good numbers throughout his collegiate career, starting at New Hampshire before a final season at Southeastern Louisiana.
At his pro day, he ran a 4.60-second 40-yard dash and repped 225 pounds 14 times on the bench press. He is a low-to-the-ground runner with powerful legs, but lacks high-end athleticism.
At 27 years old, he is looking to carve out a potential role with an NFL team before it is too late. Being signed after a tryout is always a good omen and very impressive for someone who has never played an offensive snap in the league.
He now joins a running back room of Devon Achane, Jaylen Wright, Ollie Gordon, Donovan Edwards, and Anthony Hankerson.
