Dolphins Sign Kicker Zane Gonzalez
The Miami Dolphins have signed kicker Zane Gonzalez.
Gonzalez will turn 31 in May and has bounced around the league and played with many teams.
He has spent time with Cleveland, Carolina, Arizona, Atlanta, Detroit, San Francisco, and Washington.
Gonzalez was out of the league in 2022 and 2023.
In 2024, he played in 6 games with Washington. He was 0-1 on 50+. yard field goals, and 4 of 5 on 40 to 49.
In 2025, he joined Atlanta midway through the season, and he was 7 of 9 on 50+ and 8 for 8 in 40 to 49 yard kicks.
Also in 2025, Gonzalez was named the NFC Special Teams player of the week twice.
For his career, he has never missed a field goal under 30 yards.
He has only missed four field goals in his lifetime between 30 and 39 yards, and he is 18 for 28 on 50+ yard kicks.
Lifetime on kicks between 40 and 49 yards, he is 41 of 54.
Miami also lost its long snapper and punter on Monday, so it will need to find replacements there.

Gonzalez is replacing Riley Patterson.
Patterson was 27 for 29 on field goals for a whopping 93.1% and 34 for 25 on extra points for 97.1%.
He scored 115 points for the Dolphins last season and was clutch in many big moments, making many big kicks.
Sanders was released to open up $3.9 million in salary cap space for the team.
Sanders missed all of the 2025 season with a hip injury he suffered in late August.
Between 2018 and 2024, Sanders was one of the most reliable kickers in all of the NFL and a key part of the Miami Dolphins organization.
With 2020 being his best season, he was named first-team All-Pro.
Sanders had an 84.6% field goal percentage during his years in Miami, and a 99.6% on extra points.
He scored 820 total points as a member of the Dolphins over this time-frame.
