The Miami Dolphins rewarded their star defensive end Zach Sieler with a three-year, $67.75 million contract extension after back-to-back 10-sack seasons. After earning his first contract extension in 2023 worth $10.25 million annually, Sieler exceeded all expectations the last two seasons and has become a star in Miami.
Former Pro-Bowl left tackle Terron Armstead spoke on "The Set" earlier this week about Sieler after earning his new contract extension. It made it abundantly clear that he believes Sieler is one of the best defensive players in the NFL.
"This how strongly I feel about Zach Sieler. Zach is one of the best defensive players in the NFL, not defensive linemen, not d-tackles, not best on the dolphins," Armstead said. "Zach is one of the best in the NFL. He does everything, everything."

Armstead played the first nine years of his career with the New Orleans Saints, but he finished his career with three years in Miami. The 12-year NFL veteran retired this offseason, but played opposite of Sieler along the Dolphins' offensive line for multiple years.
The former Dolphin recently attended a couple of practices and noticed Sieler making plays left and right. Fresh off his new contract, Sieler's back on the practice field, displaying the very skills and work ethic that earned him his extension.
"I was there at practice [for] two days. Zack Sieler dominated. He dominated practice both days. He was in the backfield way too many times. Sacks, breaking up screenplays, just tackles for loss. Zach Sieler dominated," Armstead said. "He plays the run game at the highest level. He rushes the passer at the highest level; he frees up teammates. He takes on double teams at the highest level. He's the best penetrator for line games and line stunts at the highest level.
"His awareness and IQ to read fake sets for screen passes and trick plays. He does that at the highest level. He's durable. He's in there every game. Zach sealer does this football (expletive) at a very high level. He's one of the best defensive players across the sport, all positions."
Throughout the contract extension negotiation process, Sieler stayed committed to his team and practicing with the Dolphins because he focused on the future. Sieler believes he's only getting better.
The rising star is coming off consecutive 10-sack seasons with 41 quarterback hits and 24 tackles for loss. Sieler, building on that, is a scary sight for opposing offenses.
