Miami Dolphins' star receiver Tyreek Hill was not at Wednesday's practice due to an undisclosed injury. Head coach Mike McDaniel spoke to reporters before practice, but did not address Hill's status.
Hill dealt with a lingering wrist injury throughout the 2024 season that held him back from performing at his best. After making the Pro Bowl in each of his first eight years in the NFL, Hill failed to do so last year. He also failed to reach 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in five seasons.
However, Hill had participated in most of the team's activities until this point and seemed to be rehabbing his wrist injury well. It's unclear to this point what caused Hill to miss Wednesday's practice.
In other injury news, McDaniel gave an injury update on tight end addition Darren Waller. The tight end came out of retirement this offseason and has not been practicing, but McDaniel said he may be about a week out from returning to the field.
Waller is currently on the PUP list as he works on getting back into football shape. However, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said on Tuesday that the tight end will be ready for Week 1.
Moving from the Dolphins' offensive weapons to the offensive line, Miami got more bad injury news on Wednesday. Interior offensive lineman Andrew Meyer will be out for multiple weeks, according to Mike McDaniel.
Wouldn't be Dolphins football if things like this didn't happen. Andrew Meyer gets an endorsement from Terron Armstead, by all accounts has had a great camp, and now is out "weeks" according to McDaniel. Again, OL depth will be a huge issue for this team.pic.twitter.com/oxsX2kyyXP

McDaniel praised the UTEP center for the strides he's made from year one to year two. He's been one of the top performers during training camp, and McDaniel is excited for when he's able to come back healthy.
The Dolphins have dealt with numerous injuries throughout training camp, and they just seem to continue piling up. However, the coaching staff has continued to praise the guys stepping up around the injuries, trusting in the depth and young development of the team.
