Dolphins' Super Bowl odds drop after Week 17

After a meteoric rise to the top of every sportsbook's Super Bowl betting list, the Miami Dolphins have -- how do we put this lightly? -- taken a bit of a tumble.

Mike McDaniel's squad was a heavy favorite to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy back in the first few weeks of the 2022 NFL season. However, after losing five straight games and having to contend with Tua Tagovailoa sustaining another concussion, Miami has fallen to a 60-1 long shot to win it all according to DraftKings.

That's a big fall even from where they were listed before the holidays.

Sunday's crushing 23-21 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 17 also put the Dolphins at risk of not making the playoffs at all. Once seen as a sure shot to play in the postseason, Miami now sits at .500 and on the outside looking in.

The Dolphins have a shot at getting back into the playoffs if things go their way in Week 18. Miami will have to defeat the New York Jets and the Patriots must lose to the Buffalo Bills -- the long-standing favorite to win the Super Bowl -- in the final week of the regular season.

If that doesn't happen, the Dolphins' 2022 campaign is essentially over, and anyone who put money on them early in the season is going to have a bit of a hole in their wallet.
