Dolphins Trade Jaylen Waddle to Denver

The Miami Dolphins have traded Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos for three picks in this year’s draft.

Per Adam Schefter, Miami will get Denver’s 1st, 3rd, and 4th round picks in return for Waddle and Miami’s 4th round pick.

This will give Miami picks 11 and 30 in Rd 1. Pick #43 in Round 2. And Picks 75, 87, 90, and 94 in Round 3. As well as pick 130 in Rd 4.

With this trade, Miami takes on a $23.2 million dead cap hit.

This move leaves the Dolphins with 7 picks in the Top 100, but it also leaves Miami with a very depleted WR room at this moment.

You have to think Miami will use one or two of their picks on Days 1 and 2 of the draft to add at least one WR.

Miami’s WR room now consists of Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, Malik Washington, Tahj Washington, and Theo Wease.

Jon-Eric Sullivan came in wanting more draft picks, and he has done just that. Waddle’s cap number was set to jump to $33 million in 2027, a very high number.

And with Waddle being a borderline #1 WR at best, you can make the case he doesn’t justify being paid that much, so moving on from him now to get ahead of that makes sense.

Sullivan has said as recently as the combine that he wasn’t interested in trading Waddle or De’Von Achane, but he would listen to offers and the Broncs came in with an offer that was too good to turn down in his eyes.

Leading to the question, will Miami trade De’Von Achane prior to the 2026 NFL draft?
