Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa reacts to Messi joining Inter Miami

The lefty signal-caller referenced the unprecedented times of current excitement across professional sports in South Beach, mentioning the Florida Panthers' run to the Stanley Cup Finals and the Miami Heat's ongoing NBA Finals against the Denver Nuggets.

While the Panthers have dug themselves a 2-0 hole in their championship round against the Vegas Golden Knights, Florida will host Game 3 of the Finals on Thursday night and Game 4 on Saturday night. The Panthers are playing in just their second Stanley Cup Final and first since their third year of existence in 1996, when they lost to the Colorado Avalanche.

After dropping Game 1 to the Nuggets by double digits, the Heat bounced back in Game 2 on the road with a huge comeback victory. Miami will host Games 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Friday respectively, before returning to Denver for Game 5 on June 12.

Unlike the Panthers, the Heat have had earned multiple championships in their relatively short existence (35 seasons), capturing the NBA title in 2006, 2012 and 2013.

The Dolphins have two championships in their history, but they came half a century ago in Super Bowls VII and VIII. They've made the postseasons only three times in the last 21 years but are coming off of a 9-8 campaign that ended with one of those playoff berths.

Head coach Mike McDaniel's group fell in the AFC wild-card round to the Buffalo Bills, and with Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle all back this year, expectations are high for another postseason appearance.

Inter Miami (5-0-11) is currently last in the MLS Eastern Conference standings with 15 points and has never finished better than 12th in the league during their brief four year history.

Though Tagovailoa didn't mention MLB's Miami Marlins (34-28), they've been a pleasant surprise through the first third of their season, as they are in second place and just three games behind the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves (36-24).
