Dolphins: We didn't ask former coach Brian Flores to sign NDA

During what will likely become a widely discussed interview on "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" that will air Tuesday evening, former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said he declined to sign a non-disparagement agreement presented by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross following his dismissal from the club in January and before he filed his class-action lawsuit that alleges, among other things, that Ross offered him $100,000 per loss for the 2019 season.

An attorney representing Flores said the coach "left millions of dollars on the table" by not signing the NDA. However, the Dolphins, who have denied wrongdoing on multiple occasions, have since said Flores' latest accusation is false.

"This latest assertion by Brian Flores that Steve Ross mentioned an NDA to him is categorically false," the Dolphins said in a statement shared by Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. "This just did not happen and we simply cannot understand why Brian continues this pattern of making unfounded statements that he knows are untrue. We are fully cooperating with the NFL investigation and look forward to all of the facts coming out, which we are confident will prove that his claims are false and defamatory."

Also during the interview with Gumbel, Flores said he and his legal team "definitely have corroborating evidence" to back the "tanking" claim and would share that evidence with the NFL as part of a league investigation. Ross could potentially be voted out of the league by other owners if the inquiry proves he legitimately offered Flores bonus money to purposely lose games to help the Dolphins' draft position at any point.
