If the way he snapped at reporters after Sunday's loss was any indication, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson probably just wants to crawl under the duvet and not communicate with the outside world for a while.
That makes this probably the worst time to get chirped at by Donald Trump.
The Republican presidential hopeful reportedly threw shade at Johnson — where else — via Twitter on Monday following the Jets' 22-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills:
Woody Johnson, owner of the NYJets, is @JebBush’s finance chairman. If Woody would’ve been w/me, he would’ve been in the playoffs, at least!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 4, 2016
Perhaps this was meant to be more of a jab at Bush than it was at Johnson, because really, whomever Johnson decides to back isn't going to have some mystical sports voodoo impression on how the Jets perform.
Still, it is a stab at a team that just saw its playoff hopes dashed about 24 hours earlier. Hard to imagine that Johnson will have anything nice to say in return, should he choose to give the low blow any response at all.
