Doug Pederson: Carson Wentz will be 'ready to go' Week 1

Eagles fans became concerned when quarterback Carson Wentz missed practice on Monday due to a soft-tissue, lower-body injury. Head coach Doug Pederson put those concerns to rest by telling reporters that the injury was "minor" and confirming that Wentz will be "ready to go" for the Eagles' Week 1 matchup against the Washington Football Team.

Wentz's health has been a problem for his entire time in Philadelphia, with his rookie year the only season that did not end prematurely due to injury. He managed to play all 16 games of the regular season last year but was injured during the Eagles' wild-card matchup against the Seattle Seahawks and could not finish the game.

With a healthy Wentz, the Eagles hope to repeat as NFC East champions, which they have won twice in the last three years. However, they will have to stay ahead of the Dallas Cowboys, who appear to have one of the most potent offensive attacks in the entire NFL.

Last month, Wentz expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, saying that the Eagles offense may surprise people.

"I think some things will look a little different," Wentz told reporters. "I’m really excited about it and I think it will really complement what we as an offense, who we are identity-wise. I think coaches really have a good grasp of who we are and how we can get the most out of me and out of the rest of the supporting cast."
