It's been over three years since future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees retired from the NFL. He played 20 seasons for the New Orleans Saints and went on to win two AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year awards and a Super Bowl MVP.

The former Purdue Boilermaker has embraced retirement by spending quality time with his family, exploring new business ventures, and even taking on a television role during his first year post-NFL with NBC’s "Sunday Night Football."

Now, there's a chance fans see him in the NFL spotlight once again.

On Thursday, Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reported that Brees and NFL Network's Scott Hanson are in talks with Netflix about joining the NFL Christmas Day doubleheader crew.

However, there’s a catch—fans in the United States won’t get to see their coverage of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans games.

"Brees and Hanson are 'in conversations' to contribute to Netflix’s international coverage of the Chiefs vs. Steelers and Ravens vs. Texans games, sources tell Front Office Sports."

The New York Post's Ryan Glasspiegel also reported that Netflix is targeting ESPN's Mina Kimes to join Brees and Hanson.

Netflix has been involved with the NFL for a few years now with hit series' like "Quarterback" and "Receiver" but now it’s taking things to the next level. For the first time ever, Netflix will live-stream NFL games.

The deal, announced on May 15, gives Netflix exclusive rights to air Christmas Day games for the next three seasons. According to Jarrett Bell of USA Today, "The NFL fetched $150 million from the streaming giant for the two premium Christmas matchups this year."
