DT Cameron Heyward says Steelers are best at recovering from slow start

The Steelers seem to always be in contention for the playoffs, and they are once again in what was viewed by many as a rebuilding year.

DT Cameron Heyward was asked why so many teams start a season slow and never recover, but the Steelers always seem to turn things around. His response was simple and to the point.

"The short answer is they're not us," Heyward told reporters.

Pittsburgh, now 8-8, started the season 2-6. It was turning into a lost season, but to no surprise, the Steelers turned things around.

However, this season's turnaround is all the more impressive. Pittsburgh handed the keys over to QB Kenny Pickett in Week 5, riding with him through all of his rookie ups and downs.

It's a credit to head coach Mike Tomlin, who has yet to end a season under .500 with the Steelers.

Tomlin spoke on the topic of how his team is never out of the conversation as well. "We don't die. We multiply," Tomlin stated.

The Browns (7-9) are the only thing between Tomlin and another winning-record season. Pittsburgh has a path to the playoffs, and although it needs some help from other teams, there's a very real chance of it happening.

The mentality within the Steelers organization has been the driving force for years, and they could be on their way to another trip to the postseason because of it.
