Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin spoke with the media ahead of training camp this week and stated his desire for Shemar Stewart to get in the fold as quickly as possible.
Cincinnati and Stewart have been at odds over his signing bonus payout structure and default language regarding future guarantees since he was drafted in April.
"I hope Shemar comes in," Tobin told the media on Monday. "He needs to be here. I would encourage him to be here. He could be a factor for a championship-caliber football team. I'd like to see him and I hope he gets here soon."
Stewart posted a photo training at the Texas A&M facilities on Instagram this week, days after he was supposed to report for camp with all the other rookies on Saturday.
Cincinnati officially kicks off camp on Wednesday at 10 AM ET.
