After his short-lived tenure in Washington came to a rough end, quarterback Dwayne Haskins has found a new home in Pittsburgh, signing a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Steelers. But the Steelers have made it clear that Haskins is on a short leash, as his deal reportedly includes no guarantees, meaning that the team could move on from the talented but troubled quarterback without any financial ramifications.
No bells or whistles to Dwayne Haskins' reserve/future deal with the Steelers: 1-year, $850K, 0 guarantees.

He's got plenty of money still due from WFT.
This was all about fit for Haskins, with a good chance to develop in Pittsburgh, while the Steelers take a zero risk flier.
Haskins was drafted by Washington in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft and began last season as the Football Team's starter. However, he was benched after just four weeks, as head coach Ron Rivera and the rest of the coaching staff were reportedly underwhelmed by Haskin's work ethic. Haskins briefly filled in as the starter when Alex Smith was injured but was then released by the team after photos emerged of him at a strip club following a game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Now, Haskins has a chance to get his career back on track in Pittsburgh, though it is unlikely that he will be the starter for the team. Veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has indicated he hopes to return for at least one more season, and even if Roethlisberger did retire, the Steelers would likely look to replace him in the draft or free agency.
But Haskins does represent a clear upgrade over Mason Rudolph as the team's backup quarterback. Rudolph had to fill in for Roethlisberger for much of the 2019 season and while the team went 5-3 with him as the starter, it was mostly due to the talent of the rest of the roster.
