Eagles Announce Jaire Alexander Decision on Saturday

The Philadelphia Eagles take on the Green Bay Packers for a Week 10 matchup on "Monday Night Football." Philadelphia is looking to stay hot after winning its last two games over the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants.

With hopes of winning back-to-back Super Bowls, the Eagles made several trade deadline moves. That includes acquiring cornerback Jaire Alexander from the Baltimore Ravens and a 2027 seventh-round pick for a 2026 sixth-round pick.

Alexander was playing his first season with the Ravens after spending seven years with the Packers (2018 to 2024). It meant he'd be playing the team that selected him in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

However, on Saturday, just days before playing the Packers, the Eagles announced that via a coaching decision, Alexander will not travel with the team, officially ruling him out.

"Game Status Update: CB Jaire Alexander (knee/coach’s decision) will not travel to Green Bay for tomorrow’s game and will be listed as OUT," the Eagles wrote via an X post.

The announcement also mentions a knee injury, but the two-time Pro Bowler was not listed on any of the team's Week 10 injury reports.

He's only appeared in two games for the Ravens this season and has struggled. Alexander has been targeted five times, allowing five completions for 116 yards, zero touchdowns and a 118.7 passer rating.

General manager Howie Roseman noted his potential impact, saying, "Knowing where his health is at now, feeling healthy, feeling good. We felt like the risk was worth the reward with him," according to NBC Sports Philadelphia's Reuben Frank.

The Eagles' secondary could certainly use some help, currently allowing the 18th most passing yards per game (215.9) this season.

However, as Philadelphia gets set to face his former team, Alexander will not have the chance to make an immediate impact.

Kickoff is 8:15 p.m. ET at Lambeau Field, airing on ABC and ESPN.
