Jalen Carter and the Philadelphia Eagles secured their third straight win in Week 17, improving to 11-5 on the 2025 NFL season with a 13-12 victory over Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills . The Eagles will now turn their attention to Week 18, returning to Philadelphia to host Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders in the regular-season finale.
Allen, the reigning NFL MVP, couldn't do much against Nick Sirianni's defense, completing 23-of-35 passes for 262 yards and getting brought down in the backfield for five sacks. Carter was a big reason for this as the former Georgia Bulldogs defensive tackle tallied a tackle, a tackle for loss and a sack of his own.
Leading up to the matchup with the Commanders, Carter was not listed on the injury report and was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. However, he was added to the injury report ahead of Thursday’s session and listed as a non-participant due to a hip issue, which puts Carter's status for Week 18 up in the air.
Other Eagles players unable to practice on Thursday include linebacker Nakobe Dean (hamstring), tight end Dallas Goedert (knee), tackle Lane Johnson (foot) and linebacker Jaelan Phillips (ankle). Fellow linebacker Jihaad Campbell was listed as a full participant, still recovering from a back/shoulder issue.
"Jalen Carter added to the #Eagles’ injury report as DNP with a hip injury," NFL Network's Mike Garafolo wrote on X.
