Eagles are walking into a camp dilemma (and they created it themselves)

With training camp around the corner, the Philadelphia Eagles are still looking thin at one specific position, and to this point, Howie Roseman has not done much to remedy the concern.

Spoiler alert: it's the pass rush.

The Eagles watched their best player of the group, Josh Sweat, sign with the Arizona Cardinals and did not do a whole lot this offseason to remedy that loss.

Howie Roseman will watch the Eagles enter training camp with massive question marks at edge rusher

Sure, Philadelphia went out and signed former New York Giant Azeez Ojulari, who at one point looked like he could be a future stud as a second-round pick. But, there is a reason why the Giants let him walk. They found multiple upgrades along their front and didn't need an average pass rusher any longer.

The Eagles also brought in another former second-round pick in Josh Uche, formerly of the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs. But, like Ojulari, there's a reason he didn't have much of a market.

At this point, it's going to be Nolan Smith alongside 2024 third-round pick Jalyx Hunt starting on the edge. As a rookie, Hunt played 25 percent of snaps and wound up with 1.5 sacks and five quarterback pressures.

This is the group the defending Super Bowl champions are depending on.

As we inch closer to camp, the Eagles are likely going to see the top three remaining free agent pass rushers get taken off the market. Za'Darius Smith, Jadeveon Clowney and Matt Judon are still out there, but could all be snatched up in no time.

Many teams are probably watching the Cincinnati Bengals' pair of situations with Trey Hendrickson and Shemar Stewart before making another move, but Philly has to ensure they are able to make a move at all, before it's too late.

If they walk into camp with the pass rushers they've got right now, Philly is going to be taking a huge gamble. They're great at all other position groups, but will this unit be able to get enough of a pass rush? It's a concern, and for good reason.
