The Eagles continue to add talent as they enter their second week of training camp. According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the team brought back Ife Adeyi, a speedster out of Sam Houston State, who ran a 4.28 (unofficial) 40-yard dash at the Houston, Texas Pro Day.
#Eagles re-sign Ife Adeyi @BearkatsFB to one year deal per league source @KPRC2 (4.35 speed, unofficial 4.28, 5-8 2/8, 181 pounds, 18 bench reps, 40 1/2 vertical, 11-1 broad jump, 4.14 short shuttle, 6.74 3-cone) did #Texans local day https://t.co/qDuyfs1oG6 pic.twitter.com/xFfSYXdbxq

Adeyi rejoins the Eagles after spending two days with the team last month. Currently, he has been on the workout tour, showcasing his talents for the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons this past week. He also participated in the Eagles' Rookie Mini-Camp after the 2025 NFL Draft.
Adeyi spent six seasons at Sam Houston State, staying with the program from their transition from an FCS Program to the FBS. Adeyi appeared in 54 games, totaling 164 receptions, for over 2,000 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns during his college career.
While he hasn't had much experience, Adeyi's best shot to make the roster would be as a return man, whether it be in the kick or punt return facet of the game. With Kenneth Gainwell now in Pittsburgh (leading kick returner in 2024) and Cooper DeJean expected to take a bigger role on the defense (leading punt returner in 2024), Adeyi has the ability to carve out a KaVontae Turpin-like role for himself in 2025.
Adeyi can make an impact this season however, the transition will not be easy. He's only returned 14 kicks (none since 2021) and 10 punts (all in 2024). While the Eagles have taken chances on specialist speedsters in the past, like Britain Covey and Devon Allen, one could argue that Adeyi will have to make an impact as a receiver as well, and being a special teams standout will not be enough.
The Eagles have a 1A and 1B at wide receiver with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, and should have Jahan Dotson as their WR3. With reps limited in training camp and Adeyi coming in late, it may be a bit of an uphill battle for him to make the roster.
