Eagles can double down with red zone threats following NFL's decision on the Tush Push going into 2025 season

The Tush Push isn’t going anywhere in 2025, meaning the Philadelphia Eagles will have multiple dangerous ways to score in the red zone, thanks in part to one of their rookies.

The Eagles snagged former Nebraska defensive tackle Ty Robinson at No. 111 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft last month. At 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds, Robinson capped off a standout 2024 season with the Cornhuskers, starting all 13 games and posting career-best numbers of 37 tackles, 12.0 tackles for loss, and 7.0 sacks. He also tallied four pass breakups, blocked a field goal, and recorded a safety, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors in the process.

Sure, Robinson's addition provides Philadelphia with a much-needed boost on the defensive line, helping to fill the void left by Milton Williams' departure in free agency. However, he also offers intriguing offensive potential if the Eagles decide to utilize him that way. 

In his final season at Nebraska, Robinson wasn't limited to defense, he also played eight snaps at fullback during short-yardage situations. which resulted in the Huskers scoring touchdowns on seven of those plays with him lined up in the backfield.

Amid the Tush Push ban talk, Eagles insider Eliot Shorr-Parks had originally thought Philly might replace their special quarterback sneak with Robinson's ability to play both sides of the ball. However, the Eagles won't have to worry about a backup plan.
